Small town girl. Big, bold ideas.

I grew up on the stage. Singing my heart out at community events and in theatrical productions. As a child with albinism and legal blindness, the applause gave me the confidence to walk the halls at school and to celebrate my difference.

The hustle found me. I organized front-porch craft fairs. I sold hand-illustrated “series books” at baseball games. And like a smart “junior content creator” I took “preorders” for books I hadn’t written yet.

Teenage Summers spent at California State Summer School for the Arts at Mills College & CalArts surrounded by creatives of all types. It lit the fire, propelling me to study Songwriting at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. My time at Berklee was magical and so much more than a music education. It landed me in Nashville and then New York City where I met my husband.

We had 16 glorious years of creative adventures and makin-it-work in Brooklyn. Writing and Producing Off-broadway musicals, touring colleges as a Singer-Songwriter, traveling Europe as a professional “fire-singer”. Day jobs in Real Estate, Publishing, NonProfit Arts Administration and Perma-Temping (including answering phones in the basement of Trump Tower).

Through the creative chaos, I cherished my yearly Northern California visits to check in with family. For many years, I didn’t think I’d ever be “back” to live, but life has a funny circular pull. And here I am - raising a son
